In summer, the waves are large and fast, recommended only for advanced surfers.

the tip

With small waves, it's ideal for beginners, especially those who surf left. With medium waves, it's suitable for intermediate surfers. This wave breaks from right to left, starting over a rocky bottom and ending over sand. At high tide, it's ideal for beginners; at low tide, the wave is a bit faster and more tubular.

Colotepec bar

This beach is recommended for intermediate to advanced surfers. The waves are tubular, and at high tide, it's ideal for learning and practicing maneuvers. The Colotepec River flows into the beach here, creating numerous peaks in different spots.

Carrizalillo

This bay is usually the best beach for beginners. The wave breaks at the bottom of Arrecife and works with a south swell. With slow, long, and gentle waves, it offers the novice surfer the opportunity to try standing up on the board up to two times on the same wave. It's almost 100% guaranteed that the student will be successful at surfing.
