WSL and Pacífico will celebrate the third edition of the Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos 2026 in Baja California Sur, Mexico
More than 120 surfers from around the world will compete in the WSL Qualifying Series (QS) 2000.
The festival will include a free live concert, beach cinema, a local market, and sustainability activities.
The event promotes competitive surfing, tourism and the international projection of Baja California Sur on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The World Surf League (WSL), Surf Open League, Cerveza Pacífico and Visit Baja California Sur confirmed the third edition of the Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos , which will be held from November 19 to 22, 2026 in Playa Cerritos, Baja California Sur.
The event will bring together more than 120 national and international surfers and consolidates the region as one of the main destinations for competitive surfing in Latin America, after two editions that have strengthened the sporting and tourist expectation around this beach.
Since its first edition in 2024, the Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos has become a strategic platform for the development of competitive surfing in Mexico .
With a global reach that integrates ecological commitment, active tourism, beach culture and community, the event comes at a key moment for the sport: surfing continues to grow in international audience towards Los Angeles 2028, while Mexico and Latin America consolidate a new generation of athletes with global projection.

The official announcement was made at the LOOT gallery in Mexico City, with the presence of Gustavo Duccini , director of Surf Open League; Jesús Ordóñez Bastidas , director of the Baja California Sur Tourism Trust (FITUES); representatives of Cerveza Pacífico and Boardwalk and GDM (Gustavo Duccini Mediaworks) ; as well as Jhony Corzo and Ana Laura González , athletes confirmed for the 2026 edition.
Supported by the World Surf League (WSL) , the Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos is part of the Qualifying Series QS 2000 — one of the most demanding levels of the international ranking circuit.
The athletes compete for points that allow them to advance to the Challenger Series and eventually to the Championship Tour , the highest level of professional surfing worldwide. This opportunity makes Cerritos a strategic stop for the continent's best emerging talents.

The competition will bring together representatives from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Israel, Italy, Germany, Finland, Chile, Sweden, Puerto Rico, and Barbados , among other countries. The event will also feature a national women's category , providing visibility and a platform to showcase the best female surfers in the country and the region to national and international audiences.
Among the confirmed athletes are Alan Cleland Jr. (MEX) , ISA world champion and member of the WSL elite; Jhony Corzo (MEX) , ISA gold medalist and first Mexican world surfing champion; Sebastian Williams (MEX) , one of the most explosive talents in the North American ranking; and Lucas Cassity (MEX) , the local surfer from Cerritos who won over his community by reaching the semifinals in the inaugural edition.
"Events like the Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos are essential for the growth of surfing across North America and Latin America. Our vision is to keep strengthening the competitive pathway so more athletes from the region can progress through the WSL system and reach the Championship Tour. Cerritos has become a strategic stop in that journey."—Bryan Robins, World Surf League.

In addition to the professional competition, the 2026 Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos will be a four-day cultural festival with free activities for the public. These include screenings of surf short films, beach cleanups, a local market , live music, and a free concert to close the event.
"The Pacífico Surf Open Cerritos was born with a very clear vision: to create a platform capable of boosting Mexican surfing on the international stage without losing its connection to the community, beach culture, and respect for the ocean. Today we see local athletes sharing the stage with some of the best surfers on the continent, and that confirms we are on the right track. Our goal is not just to organize a competition, but to build a legacy that generates opportunities for new generations and contributes to the sustainable growth of surfing in Mexico."— Gustavo Duccini, General Director of Surf Open League.
